Easter time is here!

I know I have been a bit keen on my house-blogging recently... Please forgive me for yet another post. Just wanted to show you a couple of things! Yesterday I finally finished the bedroom, and we could sleep in peace in there (except I was washing the linen, so we ended up in sleeping bags. note to self: save up for some more linen.).

(He has decided to start a better life which he rightly thinks involves fresh herbs on anything. I mean fresh basil on EVERYTHING. He would probably put it on porridge if it wasn't for the fact that he doesn't like porridge.)

Neverending Decemberists Love

I got these posters last summer at End of the Road Festival, a wonderful folk festival in Dorset. The Decemberists were unfortunately not playing there (but several other of our favourites were, including the Mountain Goats), but for some reason they were selling these great hand printed posters. They are now adorning the wall above our tiny dining table.

Going on holiday!

Finally, I am going to Italy! I am very excited because I've never been there before, and also because it is kind of mandatory for an architect to go to Florence at some point. We leave on Friday and I can't wait! (Our last holiday was more than a year and a half ago, so about time!)

Lamp project pt 2

Take one cool metal lampshade from a market in brick lane, one funky coloured power cord, one IKEA shelf bracket, and voilà:

New project

Seeing as i am back in London and, for now, jobless, I've got a couple of projects going! Firstly, making the house look nice after my prolonged absence, and secondly, making a lamp! It's going to consist of a board with holes through which I will poke fairy lights. Got the idea from an Internet article, and thus far I have painted the board a fun colour:

I found this curious lamp in my mum's attic, and i love these mega-bulbs from ikea so much that I don't think I'm going to put a lamp shade on it!

Tweets and Shelf

I feel like my engaging with virtual communication has reached new heights: I have joined twitter, on Shane's recommendation, and also put my twitter feed on the blog. I think we should all do the same, so we can tweet directly to the blog and it'll bring it more to life. Also, I wanted to show you a close up of the shelf Else mentioned, the one depicted behind the drawing board in the previous post - it was my birthday present from my lovely man, home made! And check this, a secret room with it's own little lamp and birthday card inscribed on the wall:
